Today’s Lecture…

This lecture is interesting. There’s an attorney here that is against gay marriages and against sex education in schools. His reason is that gay marriages will open the gates to any other kind of marriage. If you allow man and man to get married and woman and woman to get married then you can’t stop anyone from having two wives or two husbands and you can’t stop people from marrying their sisters and their dogs. He also thinks gay marriages destroy the institution of marriage and my favorite part of his argument is that marriage is not about love and so because homosexual couples can’t have children then I guess what’s the point. A student just said “SHOULD INFERTILE COUPLES BREAK UP or not be allowed to marry?” [Perfect question if you ask me and his answer is they might be able to conceive later -__-]  I was already turned off by his arrogance when he started speaking so I spaced out a lot.

Is it really worse than being jealous, shallow, vain, wealthy, snobby, prideful, arrogant, boring, fake, evil, selfish or cruel? Just because you don’t agree with the kind of lifestyle someone else chooses to live does not mean you have the privilege to treat them less than human. Learn to respect people (1 Peter 2:17). They are a real living person with feelings, with flesh, with a delicate heart. Actually, the funny thing is I personally find it easier to love these certain human beings, because at least they are being honest in who they are. They aren’t hiding it. It’s the prideful, the selfish, and all those other struggles than can so easily be hidden from others. We can never know their true colors and motives of why they do the things they do. Those struggles are the ones that scare me. Hey! Guess what, we all have flaws! I know, crazyyyyy stuff. So to the one who has never sinned or struggled with something, feel free to throw the stone at these disgusting human beings. Actually, hit me first. I’ll be standing with the other sinners of the world.

Art/Religion

Today I had the conversation about illuminati and freemasons and being devil worshippers with two different groups of people.  The first group of people wanted to believe in this stuff so they justified their views by mentioning deaths associated with certain people- saying they sacrificed people to get to the position they are at- and mentioning famous wealthy people that fell into one of the above categories.  And honestly, I freaked out, there were things that were way too extreme and I discounted but the whole idea of it blew my mind.  Then I had a conversation with the people that didn’t want to believe it, that mentioned how it’s art and a lot of things said are rhetoric and if you’re going to mention when someone mentioned the devil you should also remember when they praised God. 

At the end of the day, I think I’ve come to my conclusion. IDGAF.  Okay that’s not my conclusion but really come on.  I had made up my mind not to listen to Kanye’s new stuff after the first conversation but that was in the heat of the moment, after thinking about it, what does Kanye’s music have to do with my salvation? For my own good and for my own spiritual journey with God, I should cut out secular music anyways, especially the ones that cuss and are derogatory but even if I do decide to listen to some hip-hop am I really not gonna love God anymore if I listen to New Day on Watch the Throne? (Great song btw).  I’ve always said I don’t care what they do and I’m going to stand by that.  If on a track he flat out denounces my God or if he says ill things about Him i’ll clearly stop and delete the track because I won’t associate myself with something that directly goes against my belief but a neutral track I don’t see why I can’t listen to. If a song doesn’t sit right with me, it doesn’t. But i’m not gonna go around spreading that they are evil and devil worshippers, I can just preach what I believe in.


Judge not, lest ye be judged

I remember reading the entire court case (I actually absolutely enjoy doing even though I hate reading) for Snyder v. Westboro church- where some church members held up signs saying things like God hates gays and His death was God’s way of punishing American and a whole bunch of other absurd things. Also remember when last week a christian co-worker said he hated gay people. I went on the church’s website and what they preach in the name of God has nothing to do with the God that I serve.  I think it’s AMAZING that people that claim to follow the life and teachings of Christ can have so much hatred in their heart towards a fellow human. I do not care what bible you read or who you bend your knees to. God doesn’t hate them, He hates sin.  God doesn’t hate liars, He hates lies.  So who are you to stand there claiming you’re holy and perfect yet you didn’t read the part of the bible that said do not judge (especially when you know your hands are not clean), or the one that said love your neighbor as you would love yourself, maybe you didn’t read when Jesus said that whatever you neglected to do to your fellow humans you neglected to do to Him.  

Being a christian doesn’t make you or me the judge of the world and the person with all the answers.  A lot of people are getting turned away from christianity because of things like this and because of the hypocrisy and arrogance of christians and i’m sure that’s not how God intended it.

Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.
